Artemis Bears

Andrea has 20+ years experience in contemporary crafting, previously having been at the forefront of the scrapbooking craze, as well as producing stunning work in cardmaking, sewing, embroidery and bag making.

She came relatively late to bear making, and has brought a contemporary slant to the traditional handmade skills involved in this most gorgeous of crafts.

Within her first year designing and making bears, she had won 5 consecutive 'visitors best in show awards' locally to her base in the West Country. 2010 saw her come second in the '18 months and under category' at the BBA awards at Brighton Racecourse.

No two Artemis Bears are the same. Some are similar, but all have an utterly unique character all of their own.

Andrea uses traditional material (usually the very best quality Mohair) and traditional hand crafted techniques to create each piece, which takes approx 12 hours from the first cut of the scissors to the final hand sculpting of the face.

Every Artemis Bear, up to now, has either been pre-sold, or only available at selected fairs. Now, one of the South West's leading stores, Dawlish Bears carry a small selection of Artemis creations, and for the first time, collectors further afield will be able to order their own hand crafted piece of Teddy History via mail order from this website.

Andrea is interested in undertaking 'commision' assignments, i.e for wedding presents, commemorative occasions, or any other occasion where a delightful bear might be the ideal gift.
